Summary
Dear young people, this is the Europe we have built and that we are consolidating. I did not hide its imperfections, its contradictions or its search for an identity. But this Europe must be loved! And it needs to be strengthened." That's how Romano Prodi addresses young people. The project aims to involve young people in active citizenship and make them participate in building a fruitful intercultural dialogue capable of producing reflections and proposals on an inclusive and tolerant Europe. The project is based on confrontation, reflection and meeting of different cultures to create new proposals that can foster integration and tolerance by dismantling commonplace and prejudicial aspects of the migration phenomenon. Study, comparison and practical work will be the guiding principles of a project aimed at enriching the participants, which will be an important step towards the active citizen that Europe has always wanted to promote. It is a project of individual growth and promotion of integration and tolerance values in which EU citizens are recognized. The goals are Promote young people in the Community spirit: share a great political project with memories of the tragic experiences that divisions of the past have brought to Europe and aware of the need for Europe to be strengthened within it and on the world stage. Community spirit means to strive to understand the reasons of the other before they want to impose their own. It means awareness of the need to advance together, join and share common goals to meet common needs. It means respect, openness and multilateralism. Develop solidarity: Solidarity is essential for Europe: solidarity between rich regions and poor regions between old and new generations between Europe and the less developed countries. But solidarity is also the foundation of EU policy. Europe of continental unification must be based on the idea of shared responsibility, mutual support and cooperation. It must encourage the emergence of a "feeling of belonging", that is, the awareness and will to belong to the European political community. Promote the culture of cooperation and relativize the idea of frontier, transforming borders into areas of cooperation and knowing that the good of a state is in the good of others as well. Europe is at odds with hegemonic or unilateral logic, and can not accept it either internally or internationally.
