Summary

The Project " Social inclusion of Refugees" developed under Erasmus+, key action 1 -mobility of youth workers, this project is designated to create a sense of tolerance to refugees among European community through the participation of 32 European youth workers at informal and non-formal activities. Informal and non-formal activities (living library, public caffe, photo-voice) will be prepared for youth workers to develop their new skills in working with young people in order to stimulate the sense of tolerance cultural diversity among them. Aim of this project is to provide a way that contributes to the knowledge of Erasmus + as a tool for promoting inclusion of people from disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly refugees newly arrived in response to critical events affecting European countries, in this period of time. It also aims to stimulate one of the principles of Erasmus +: equity and inclusion. In this regard, 32 youth workers from Turkey, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Lithuania, Macedonia are planned to take part in this project who will have enough competence and awareness on refugees and their problems living in European countries. The project is planned to take place between 20-01-2019 - 27-01-2019 in Ankara, Turkey. The development of this project stemmed from the very recent influx of refugees into European countries in huge numbers, especially refugees from war torn middle-eastern counties. This wave of new comers into European countries necessitates decent cohesion in all European communuties. However, sudden migration of huge numbers of refugees into predominantly European countries brings about some integration problems for these refugees. Therefore, training of 32 youth workers from 8 countries is of crucial importance as they will be filled with lots of information about life, culture, tradition and life styles of s and they will feel more tolerant and have more understanding of refugees' situation. The need to implement this project starts from the lack of information on the current context in which the European community are, regarding the issue of refugees. In this project the following objectives: Below are the objectives of the project: 1. Participation of 32 youth workers from Turkey, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Lithuania, Macedonia training in non-formal education and working with young people to promote the sense of tolerance regarding refugees; 2. Compose a guide with non-formal education methods that can be implemented by those involved in youth work. From October 2018 to March 2019, In the dissemination stage, workshops will be in organized in the partner countries, whose target group will be young people from Europa, in order to stimulate the sense of tolerance regarding diversity culture among them. Also, the promoters will develop a guide with all these methods that can be used in work with young people, guide that can be used by all persons involved in youth work.
