2018-2-PL01-KA105-051497
Summary
The project assumes the organization of an 8-day expert seminar addressed to 35 coordinators, mentors and leaders of international and local volunteering programs from 5 Program Countries (Turkey, Spain, Macedonia, Greece and Poland), aimed at promoting high-quality work with youth involved in volunteering in sport by expanding the range of tools used by 35 employees and youth leaders to:
* to conduct an open, transparent and non-exclusive volunteer recruitment process, which enables reaching out with volunteering opportunities also to young people with fewer opportunities (including young people from refugee families, from a social margin, have learning difficulties),
* conducting a meaningful analysis of the volunteers' needs and expectations, defining their strengths and weaknesses and educational priorities,
* setting, by means of a consensus with a volunteer, ambitious, measurable and realistic goals, the attainment of which will guarantee the development of the volunteer's competence and provide him with satisfaction from the job,
* supporting integration and team building processes in the international group, between foreign volunteers and the local community,
* monitoring the development of hard and soft skills by the volunteer, the reachability of the assumed partial and strategic goals,
* conducting, together with the volunteer, ex-ante and ex-post evaluation of performed activities, supporting the volunteer in the process of self-assessment and indicating ways to improve unsatisfactory work areas by the volunteer.
The set goals will be implemented through the organization of a seminar based on the use of case-study methods, thematic workshops, study visits, demonstration classes, expert debates, brainstorming, group work, case study, evening exchange of experiences and good practices. The project is planned to involve two people from Turkey with fewer chances (from refugee families).
Through the implementation of the project, the potential of 5 partner organizations from 5 Program Countries in the field of running short and long-term volunteering programs with local and foreign volunteers will be increased by increasing the level of competences of related youth workers related to the coordination and running of volunteering projects based on the principles of project logic ; after returning to NGOs in their countries, the participants of the seminar will implement ex-ante evaluation tools to the practice of volunteering, diversify the methodology of recruitment activities (to reach the wider range of youth groups with the volunteer offer), enrich the methodology used to motivate volunteers for hard work during the entire voluntary service.
As part of dissemination activities, there will be created:
- a virtual platform containing methods and tools that can be used to coordinate and conduct volunteering activities based on the free OneDrive application
