Summary

Youth Behind The Camera" is a Youth Exchange which will be held in Ankara by GENÇ GİRİŞİM EĞİTİM GENÇLIK VE SPOR KULÜBÜ DERNEĞİ. Focusing on the use of photography as a tool for promoting self-awareness and social inclusion on youth and youth NEETs issues. The YE will have a total of 35 participants, 11 of which will be from the NEETs category, from Turkey, Poland, Bulgaria, Lithıania, Serbia, Italy, and Spain. The full working duration of the YE will be of 8 days, from the 7th to the 14th of March 2021. Partners are Asociacija Eurobug (Lithuania), Mlodzi aktywni (Poland), Oriel (Italy), KOSARKASKI SAVEZ GRADA NISA (Serbia), Sredno Uchilishte "Vasil Levski" (Bulgaria), ASSOCIACION AMIGOS DE EUROPA (Spain). The project represents a combined effort siphoned through NFE, with the aim to empower youngsters in general, but with a particular focus on NEETs in a matter of self-awareness and social inclusion. With the goal of enhancing their soft skills which will aid them in becoming a positive force in the development of their local communities through photography. The use of Photography is foreseen because images can be stronger than words, taking advantage of the same capital as open speech, with the addition of the visual aspect. In a world based on communication through social media, photography could be a really powerful tool to help youngsters and especially NEETS to express themselves and spread and share their emotions with the others and as a follow up with their local community. This YE is dedicated to youngsters and youth NEET's, who are motivated to capture the attention of a wider audience. Showcasing the negative situation within their community in which youth NEETs find themselves in. Target group: youngsters aged 18-25 among which are youth NEETs. -İnterest into photography; -Basic knowledge about photography; -Ability to adapt themselves into a multicultural context "Youth-Photography and beyond" will start from a wider point of view, focusing on self-expression through photography. While also providing the tools needed for youngsters to become active in the area of raising awareness and social inclusion, of the issues of NEETs within their respective communities. Participants would get training from professional photographers, that would enrich their personal and soft skills. Project coordinators and the academic members of the Communication Faculty of Baskent University will instruct the participants about the evolution from Da Vinci's darkroom to today's current mirrorless(DSLR) cameras, primary modes of photography machines and concepts that provide posing and their use. Such as Shutter Speed, Optics, and ISO. Examples of working methods: The dynamic workshop, Compass/Salto sessions, individual/group activities, outdoor activities, simulations, and Open Air Gallery. The coordinating organization of the YE will provide printing resources to the participants. Photography has an educational dimension, where it is used to raise awareness of issues through visualization. It is useful for breaking stereotypes, promoting mutual understanding and empathy, conveying messages through visualization, facilitating the process of social inclusion. The values of photography are fundamental. As the visual representation of an issue can have a penetrating personal effect on individuals. In this sense, photography can be used to stifle intolerance and promote social inclusion. The YE will create a learning process through NFE, via interactive workshops and outdoor activities.Facilitating the process in an educational active way. Learning objectives of the youth exchange are:

- To provide youngsters with the NFE tools to combat the rising number of youth NEETs, with the use of photography as a method of visibility

- To provide youngsters with the basic idea behind Non-Formal Education 

- To develop the potential of youth as instigators of local development in degraded urban areas

- To promote the integration of NEET youths through NFE, photography and soft skills

- To raise youth awareness of the values instilled by the Erasmus+ Program

- To develop basic digital skills in involved youngsters through NFE, with a specific focus on photography

-To provide the fundamentals of photography to youth; -To provide social inclusion throughout the use of photography
